SERIES 3 DVD DELAY / COMPETITION WINNERS

There seems to be a delay with the Series 3 release. It looks like we may have a few more weeks to wait after all! I can assure you that DD are doing everything they can to get the set out as soon as they can.

The Series 3 DVD is now available! TV Zone no. 181 features a celebration of Secret
Army to mark the release. The cheapest place to buy the set online is Amazon.
The Complete DVD set is now scheduled for release on November 8th.

NEW FEATURETTE ON SERIES 3 DVD RELEASE


August 2004

Thanks to the efforts of Secret Army director Viktors Ritelis, the final Secret Army DVD release is set to include a 15 minute retrospective featurette entitled 'Remembering Secret Army'. Viktors, who directed more episodes of Secret Army than anyone else, provides a fascinating insight into the making of the series, using clips from the series and his own personal photo collection to illustrate the piece. The end result is captivating. Some screenshots from the featurette will appear here in due course.


   SECRET ARMY AUTOGRAPH COMPETITION

Would you like to own a set of autographs from many of the principal actors in the series? Here's your chance to win a signed A4-size provisional cover for the forthcoming Series 3 release. There are three to win and each one has been signed by Clifford Rose, Hazel McBride, Juliette Hammond, Angela Richards and Terrence Hardiman.

   SECRET ARMY REUNION

June 2004

Tuesday 1st June saw virtually all the principal cast members of the final series of Secret
Army come together to record solo interviews, for the forthcoming release. When not in
front of the camera, they spent the day catching up with each other, reminiscing over old
times and poring over photographs from the series.

During the day they were delighted to be joined by several key members of the behind-
the-scenes team, including: Judith (Judy) Neame who once again supervised make-up
as she had done on Series 1 back in 1977; Godfrey Johnson - principal film cameraman
on the series; Paul Annett - writer and director of the episode Weekend and director of
several highly-praised episodes such as Russian Roulette, Good Friday, Guilt and
Second Chance; and most significantly of all legendary series creator and producer 88-
year-old Gerard (Gerry) Glaister accompanied by his wife Joan.

  AMAZING REUNION TAKES PLACE IN LONDON

June 2004

On Tuesday 1st June interviews were recorded with many of the lead actors from the series.
Emotions ran high as many of the show's stars were reunited with each other for the first
time in 25 years. A report and photos from the day will appear here (and in the final
DVD booklet) in due course. Another key name added to the list of interviewees was that
of Hazel McBride who played Madeleine Duclos in series two and three.

 

  STAR LINE-UP FOR SERIES 3 EXTRAS

May 2004

An incredible line-up of Secret Army stars have been provisionally confirmed as set
to feature in a set of camera interviews to be recorded next month, which will be
included on the final Secret Army DVD release...

They include: Angela Richards (Monique), Clifford Rose (Kessler), Juliet Hammond-Hill
(Natalie) and Terrence Hardiman (Reinhardt).

   CLIFFORD ROSE IN OTHELLO

April 2004

Following its sell out run at the Swan theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon and a highly
successful tour in Japan, from 26th May  RSC Associate Director Gregory Doranís
production of Othello will be the first to be perform at the newly refurbished Whitehall
theatre, under its new name: Trafalgar Studios. Clifford Rose plays the Duke of Venice.
The show also stars Anthony Sher, Sello Maake ka Ncube (both pictured below), Lisa
Dillon and Amanda Harris. Click here for more details

The complete second series of Secret Army has now been released. The cover for the

   SERIES 1 DVD RELEASE

November 2003

The first series of Secret Army was released by DD Video on 27th October on both DVD and
Video. This is the complete unedited first series. The DVD is accompanied by an in-depth
behind-the-scenes colour booklet which runs to 40 pages.
The DVD features all 16 episodes of the first series (unedited) on four discs.
The fully illustrated 40 page colour booklet accompanying the DVD release, features
contributions from many of the show's stars: Jan Francis, Clifford Rose, Angela Richards,
Juliet Hammond-Hill, Michael Culver, and director - Paul Annett and producer - Gerard
Glaister.
