May 1945. Reinhardt is transferred to the same prison as Kessler, who is still posing as
Major Spitzwerg. When Kessler learns that Reinhardt surrendered to Albert at the
Candide, he is determined that he should face a court martial. Monique and Durnford
are now living at Natalie's flat. Madeleine pays a surprise visit there asking for
Monique's help. Back at the Candide, Albert - who has now been awarded the Victoria
Cross - is slowly coming to terms with the loss of Monique...
