A written account of an airman's evasion falls into German hands. Brandt reads
between the lines and decides to travel down to Southern France, in an attempt to
derive the route of the escape line from the text . A disaffected policeman called
Malaud offers his assistance to Brandt and they begin to close in on a group of
evaders who are currently being chaperoned by Lisa.
